Description: On the 26th of January 2019, Loreto House celebrated the 69th Republic Day of India. This year, the theme for the programme was based on the Indian Army. The students marched up smartly to the Indian Flag. After the Head Girl unfurled the flag, all the assembled guests, teachers and students bowed before the symbol of their Nation, and soulfully sang the National Anthem. The students pledged their devotion to the country through the Students' Pledge. This was followed by numerous songs, dances, readings and a poem. We tried to express our gratitude to the brave soldiers who do not forget their duty towards us, even if we may forget them. The programme ended with a moving rendition of Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyaara Hai.
Thereafter the Chief Guest, an ex-armyman himself, shared his experiences with the gathering. He also warned the youth about the dangers of social media today. Finally, the Principal addressed the gathering, reminding us how much we owe to our Motherland and it's people.
