Description: On 27th April 2018, a total of 65 Guides from Classes VI to XII went on a Hike and Expedition to Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden in Howrah. They were accompanied by 3 animators, Ms. Joseph, Mrs. Chakraverty and Ms. Mushtaq. Everyone boarded a bus at 10:30 am from School and came back to School at 1:40 pm. Students enjoyed the bus ride a lot. When the bus reached the Botanical Garden, then everyone started walking towards the Great Banyan Tree, observing and admiring the trees. It was a great feeling being amidst nature and the variety of Flora was surprising. The Great Banyan Tree was a sight to behold. It is spread over an area of about 5 acres and is more than 250 years old. Although its main trunk has been amputated, it is still magnificent. Students and animators took rest near the Great Banyan Tree, on the grassy land, for about half an hour. After that, they started the walk back to the bus. Animators had organised a Treasure Hunt game for students which was fun to play. The Animators and students returned to school after that. It was a very informative and exciting experience.
